Human Form:

Madoka is naturally tall, perhaps not as tall as some but he stands at a good 5'8. Very solid and compact, he doesn't look like he holds a lot of muscle at first glance but it becomes obvious when you see him hauling heavy barrels, bags filled with goods and crates of valuables off of his boat. His skin is tanned from being out in the sun so much, his face weather-worn but neat. His hands are rough with calluses that have long healed and build up over months and years of use. Scars are not uncommon to see across his bare body, speaking of tales of adventure and times where he simply didn't care and rushed into the heat of the moment. He more notably has one large scar running across his nose, and long deep scars across his back and shoulder. He appears unkempt and rough from the time he spends out at sea. Dirt and grime stained into his hands long ago but for the most part Madoka is fairly clean, excluding the times at sea where it is difficult for him to find a pool of clean, fresh water. Madoka doesn't hold to close to tradition when it comes to his hair. It is long and wavy, occasionally slung into a pony tail that might keep it out of the way when he is working, but usually worn long. He isn't entirely clean shaven either, but he trims his beard often enough that you will never see it grow much past some stubble on his chin. It is one of few things he keeps on top of, he's never been one for having a long beard.

Madoka's apparel varies, depending on what it is he is doing. For the most part while working on his boat, Madoka wears a loose-fitting, long sleeved top, dark pants and long, suitable hiking boots. He will usually wear his long hair out, unconcerned by it getting tangled in the ropes as he has gotten to the point where he could man his boat blind folded. On the times when he is heading into the Wilds however, Madoka makes certain to wear protective clothing. Long sleeved shirt, a coat and occasionally a cloak will be worn. He wears long pants and again a suitable pair of hiking boots. He has a belt specially made to fit his dagger and other items he likes to carry around with him.

Gender Swapped:

As a female Madoka hasn't changed all that much, as you might expect. She is still tall standing at around 5'7, not as tall as her male counterpart but still tall. Her body is compact and solid, the muscle more obvious in her arms and legs. She doesn't have a lot of shape to her hips or her bust but Madoka has never been especially into keeping her looks up to par with the Talori standards. She is as dirty as she is in her male form, bathing herself when necessary and when she is able while at sea. Her face is weather worn, her features sharp and angular. Her hands are calloused from the work she does and her finger nails have been chewed down to stubs. Her skin is tan and lightly freckled with sun spots. Madoka has never been overly pretty or classically handsome, but she has a nice face, particularly on the rare occasion she smiles. Her blue eyes are piercing and sad. Her long hair thick, wavy and dark as the night. She often wears it out, never bothered by it when it flies around her face and on occasion does she pull it back into a messy pony tail. In female form Madoka would have the classic resting bitch face, but it's hard to say if she does it on purpose or not. Madoka is as solitary as ever and is quick to frighten all off with a dirty look. Female Madoka is still hardy however and is only a little less stronger than her male counterpart.

In this form Madoka would not dress as a 'lady', rather she would opt for clothes that were suitable for the work she does. Ditching the dresses and skirts for pants, shirts and suitable shoes. She is all for practical dressing and finds wearing dresses or skirts to be nonsensical, uncomfortable and too flashy for her tastes. Madoka often dresses herself in long sleeved shirts, thick leather pants and long boots suitable for climbing and hiking. She takes a cloak wherever she goes and has a belt where she keeps her dagger and other items that she prefers to keep close to herself. The rest gets chucked into the bags she carries which are filled with the basic survival kit. She makes certain she has plenty of space to carry valuables in and only ever brings the real necessary items with her.

Occupation:

Madoka isn't your typical Agriculturist. He doesn't make a living off of farming the land or the sea, but rather from scavenging shipwrecks and scouring the Wilds for the rarest of items or lost treasure. He is often mistaken for a Rogue but there is no way in Cascade's name he would ever consider himself as such, having a long standing grudge against being called a thief. Madoka doesn't steal, he works for his living, even if it might seem as easy and simple as going through an old wrecked ship. There are often many dangers that accompanies this kind of work and it never is as easy as it seems. At least for Madoka it often isn't and he quite regularly blames Cascade for sending trouble his way. If he isn't fending off thieving rogues, he is trying to stave off hunger from the lack of resources he brought with him or perhaps trying not to become lunch for someone else. There is a number of dangers that comes with him working on his own in the Wild or at sea that not a lot think about. He has learned a lot over the years and has become better at what he does, but Madoka still is prone to making mistakes and sometimes mistakes can be deadly.

From adventuring through the Wilds to braving the seas, Madoka searches for uncommon to rare ingredients for brewers and clerics who are, for the most part, his main clients. With his work he is often able to provide rare herbs, plants, roots, animals and other such things for those who are in need of it. Most clerics who commission him are looking for ingredients that will help fight illnesses and disease while brewers are creating a vast range of potions. It brings him a sense of purpose to know that by him risking his own hide out in the Wilds can possibly assist in helping heal those who are very sick a little hope and is perhaps one of few reasons he hasn't completely thrown himself off his boat and into the sea yet. It is something he might deny if asked, but it is a very personal thing for him to be able to help others who cannot help themselves. So he risks his life, if in a more careless and daring way, to help bring those in need valuable ingredients that might help them survive another day.

Family Portrait:

Madoka only has a distorted memory of his parents, having had them be around for a short amount of time in his life he doesn't remember a lot about them. He does remember that his Father, Raiden was a tall, muscular man. He had the kind of presence about him that commanded that he be respected but at the same time he was kind. Madoka remembers him having dark tanned skin and a thick mop of dark hair, he thinks he might have gotten his eyes from Raiden but it is difficult to say from such a distant memory. Raiden was well built from his time at sea and shares a lot of features and habits with Madoka.

Ivana was a beautiful woman and someone who stands out in his memory as a strong female figure in his life. Madoka has strong feelings towards her as his Mother but at the same time he feels a sense of betrayal that is buried deep within him. Madoka loved his Mother and admired his Father, but having them leave him behind still instils a sense of loss that is different from the loss he felt from Mairi. Ivana was as tanned as Raiden was and had very long, dark hair that she kept in a long plait down her back. Ivana wore suitable clothing and never was seen in a dress or skirt. She was always a tough female and Madoka admired her greatly for the time they did have together.

Mairi was his wife. A small delicate female who looked as though the wind could knock her over. She had long golden locks of hair that curled in the humid weather Inaria often got. Her complexion was very pale due to the lack of sun. She was often underweight due to her illness but she never looked emaciated or terribly gaunt. Her face was delicate and round, her eyes wide with curiosity her mind sharp with an intelligence that she didn't outwardly portray. Mairi was often dressed in very nice, lacy skirts or flowery dresses. She enjoyed dressing herself up as if she might step outside of the room that was her jail for so long. Mairi looked like neither one of her parents, with the exception of her expressions which often remarkably reminded Madoka of her Mother who he had had a lot to do with in his time on land.

Hobbies:

Madoka doesn't have a lot of hobbies outside of his work. His job is his whole life but on those slow days, he does like to just sit and watch the sea. More often then not he will pull out the small shell pendent that holds a picture of Mairi and himself in it as well as two intertwining locks of hair. He never opens it but he just holds it close to him as he stares off into the water, listening to the waves as the boat rocks steadily. It is very relaxing and perhaps one of the few times he truly loosens his hold on his anger and grief, letting his walls slip down so he might finally become himself. His true self, not the one he pretends to be or the one he shuts down.

Madoka can barely read so books are generally out of the question but he does have an old fairy tale book that Mairi used to read to him that he has stowed away in his boat. He occasionally brings it out to look at the pictures and try to read the scramble letters on the page, but it is frustrating and difficult for him.

Madoka is one to enjoy the scenery however and often pauses to look out over the hill he just climbed or down at the horizon where the sun is rising or falling. It is one of the few pleasures he allows himself to partake in and he finds it to be as relaxing as staring out at sea. He is often quietly amazed by the beauty of the world around him but it also makes him wish he could have had the chance to show Mairi a lot more. She would have enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and seeing the ocean from atop of an especially tall hill.

And perhaps last of all Madoka particularly enjoys diving deep into the shipwrecks he finds at the bottom of the ocean. With his new blessing, it has opened up a whole new world of which he cannot get enough of. Exploring old, sunken ships is fascinating and not only that it is often rather lucrative as he finds all sorts of unusual items ranging from jewellery to useful tools and items he knows craftsmen might enjoy. It is a whole other world and a whole other time and he finds it to be incredibly fascinating.
